Gardening Update...

We have seven tomatoes growing right now...six hanging (hee, hee) and one that's starting to turn red, on a plant that we thought was hopeless...

And just to prove us wrong, just when we had given up on that hopeless plant, yet another surprise was thrown at us.

As for our zucchini and cucumbers...they're gone. They started to show signs that something was growing, then, all of a sudden, they literally disappeared. The plant is still there...but nothing is growing. I give up...

Our peach harvest...after the first branch broke, I harvested those peaches from that branch and made them into peach butter. Mmmm...delicious. Oh, and by the way, I found the culprit. Then, looks as if he brought his Mama back for more, because she ended up in the tree and basically split it down the middle. I was as far out on my patio as I could get blowing the air horn (what the 'experts' tell us to do when there's a bear around) to get her to leave, but she just looked at me as if saying, "yeah, right, you think that's going to scare me??!!" Well, she basically split the tree in half, and we're going to have to cut it down. But here's what I could salvage after hours of bear buffet-style meals... So sad, my poor tree!! We still have another that's not yet ready to harvest, though. Hopefully they stay out of that one!!

  1. Your peaches are just scrumptious looking! So sad that you will lose a tree!
